OpenAI’s Sora 2 is a marketer’s dream. It’s the first tool that makes AI-generated clips feel like they were shot in the real world, complete with natural motion, sound, and continuity.

Here’s what’s new, along with 13 ways marketers can use Sora 2 – with a gallery of eye-popping videos below.

What’s New in Sora 2?

With major improvements in realism, sound, and storytelling control, OpenAI’s latest text-to-video model now delivers clips that feel like they were filmed on set by a professional film crew. Here are the features you’re going to want to try.

Realistic motion and consistent worlds

Earlier AI video tools struggled to keep scenes coherent. Objects would jump around, lighting would flicker, and physics didn’t make sense. Sora 2 fixes that.

Its world simulation engine makes objects behave the way they should: rolling, bouncing, floating, or falling with real-world momentum. That realism gives even short clips a grounded, cinematic feel.

Built-in sound that matches the scene

Most text-to-video models have been silent. Sora 2 generates dialogue, ambient noise, and synced sound effects right inside the clip.

Prompt a short story, ad, or explainer and get visuals and audio together. That’s a huge time-saver if you’re creating social videos or brand snippets—you no longer have to layer sound manually.

Multi-shot storytelling and style control

Instead of a single static shot, you can now script sequences: an establishing shot, a close-up, a product reveal, all while keeping characters and objects consistent. You can even switch visual styles mid-video, from realistic to anime to cinematic.

For marketers and creators, that means more storytelling freedom without diving into complex editing software.

Cameos and source-image animation

Sora 2 introduces “cameo” mode. Upload your photo, and the model can insert your likeness (or anyone else’s) directly into the scene. It can even animate from a single still image, allowing you to keep character consistent between scenes.

That makes it easy to create personal or branded clips where you—or your mascot—appear naturally in AI-generated worlds.

Longer clips and mobile access

The new version lets all users create 15-second videos, with Pro users getting up to 25 seconds. It’s also integrated into a mobile app designed for quick social-style creation. Those updates make Sora 2 practical for your entire marketing team.
